Add a few fa-la-la's

Singing along with the radio
Sunshine and sunflowers
In my retro futuristic hover car
Add a few fa-la-la's
When I hit the words I don't know
It's Friday, soon to be Friday night
And that's just alright with me

Who Is More Charitable: Atheists Or Christians?

Now this is a war I can support. The war to see who can give more. (I know that is not a real war.)  To the front!!

Talking in Circles

Talking in Circles

Which clichéd path
Through this interview
Would you prefer to pursue?

There is the Good News
And there is the Bad News
Or should we tackle the
Hue and the Cry?

On which train are your thoughts
Due to arrive?
How do you hide the tracks?
With garlic and chives
Or straight tomato paste?

All this talking in circles
Is it jerking you around
To face the face you couldn’t
Face before it faced you down?

Color Scheming

Teeth grinding
Deep breathing
Still spinning
Free wheeling

The slow grind of empires dying
Creates a patriotic drone
That overcomes life’s
Primary imperatives
How much dumber to we have to be
Before we notice how much
The map has changed
And with it me
?
But you
Dismiss the clues
Content yourself with violence and boobs
(Not that boobs aren’t nice)
Hope your wolf tickets
Can be cashed in
For red carpet status
Or side kick fame
Regardless of how the map has changed
Sometimes
Cowboy antics
Despite being a way
And a truth
Are no life
No one folds the father’s map
Like a lonesome stranger
And some goddamned good science fiction

Nail biting
Pharaoh fighting
Mary hailing
Color scheming

Post Idealist Metaphor

People learned a lot

Last weekend
People learned a lot
On the previous day
People learned a lot
In the parking area
Where the cars never stop
People learned a lot
As the lessons of immortality
Whizzed past their heads
People learned a lot
When they finally stopped
The post idealistic metaphor
Running and ruining
Their fatalistic dinner parties

It was a lot to take in
I must admit, but
People learned a lot
In those days
Squeezed between other
Ordinary days
When generations were not
Clearly demarked
People learned a lot

Our river runs high

We are A-OK. But the road is under water.

Oh, Cruel Fate

If we accept the proposal

That this world is in serious danger
If we declare
That the coming disaster
Is what we declare
Then the inevitable march
Of the yellow gargantuans
Will render our arguments
Declarative in name only
And our catastrophe
Becomes rhetorical
In a very literal sense
As the sound of giant feet
Rumbles and grows
And we ask ourselves
Is it really too late?

Oh, Cruel Fate.

Ocean of Now

This is now
We meet in this
Disturbing silence
This is how
We set fire to
Pregnant tension
This is how
We spawn in the
Invisible ocean

This is now
Emerging from this
Ocean of silence

Getting Ready for the Snow Train

Getting Ready to ride the Snow Train into the Cascade Mountains on Saturday with my girls as our special Yule Holiday Excursion.  Should be a fun day of riding the train through snow covered mountains, with shopping and site seeing in Leavenworth.   Hopefully the train is more comfortable than this snow bike.

And hopefully the Amtrak security screening is not like the TSA's.  (I've already been x-rayed by the porno machine twice, and I don't fly that often.)  Sorry Santa, the elves are going to touch your junk before you fly.

Happy Hanukkah!

Look Ma, No Skin (oh yeah, and astronauts).

I don't know what to say about this Nintendo Game from Japan.
There is the possibility that it is not a real Nintendo Game, but a photo altered joke.
But I have been around enough corporate decision making to know that this is probably the real thing.
I love software and the Internet, but there are serious downsides.
The most horrible one is that company executives think that all tasks that involve research and creativity can now be done almost instantly by unpaid interns or low paid employees.  And these are the kind of results that we get.
