It Must Be Halloween, Kids
It must be Halloween
Because the traffic is creepy
The sky has gone all weepy
The corn has turned to candy
And kids put on their freaky
Happy Halloween

Poem and Collage by Jay “Super Creaky” Larsen
Count Floyd says, “Don’t forget to turn your clocks back this weekend, kids. Ahhhoooooo!!! No more daylight savings time. Pretty scary, eh? I think its scary, what with more hours of darkness and all.... Ahhoooooooooo!!!”

All the Interiors
Captain says:
I see what you’re up to
Don’t think that I don’t
Captain says:
You’re just too strange
To fit into my America
Captain says:
You can have all the Interiors
But the Exteriors are mine
Captain says:
Stand up tall
Walk straight

If you live in Washington, don’t forget to vote.
I suggest: Yes on 71 to protect Civil Unions
and No on 1033 because Tim Eyman is a horse’s ass!
Sorry Captain, Only comic book heros should have to have secret identities, not real people.

Delicate Balance
Surfing the upheavals
Rolling with the downfalls
Swaying with the rhythm
Making art of necessity
I am the tiny dancer
Join me for a round
I am the tiny dancer
But who calls the tunes?

The picture is a small detail of a painting I did in 1997 taken with my phone and tweaked with free photo filter app I downloaded.
As usual the words are my echo of some thunder beyond myself.

iPhone blogs differently
Apparently everything below the photo when sent from my iPhone doesn't show up in the blog
post. Something I will have to get used to.
And we have now lost all the wonderful witticisms I placed below the photo of a pot of tea on my previous post. Oh well. Nothing is permanent and all that philosophy.
I was just saying that antibiotics are wonderful things, and that I am beginning to feel better than I have in months.
The picture above means nothing...even though on my iPhone the picture is below everything I am typing. When it makes it to the website, it is posted above everything. Technology makes our lives easier, eh?

A pot of tea
Enjoying green tea
Some udon noodles
And a friendly conversation
I can't solve the world's problems
But I can enjoy lunch
Some udon noodles
And a friendly conversation
I can't solve the world's problems
But I can enjoy lunch

Sick Puppy
I've been a little under the weather
Not as sick as a dog
Thank dog
And I've been trying to migrate to an iPhone
Which is not as easy as it should be
Not as sick as a dog
Thank dog
And I've been trying to migrate to an iPhone
Which is not as easy as it should be

Clear Loop
This is not cutting edge tech
But the blood continues to flow
Clearly we are in a loop
We have not fully realized
The lengths to which
These loop gurus will go
Clearly we are in a loop
Go guru, go
Clearly we are
Loop guru
Clear
Loop
Clear
Loop
But the blood continues to flow
Clearly we are in a loop
We have not fully realized
The lengths to which
These loop gurus will go
Clearly we are in a loop
Go guru, go
Clearly we are

Baseline Pivot
Abnormal is the new standard
Fifteen minutes no longer
Defines fame
Broken becomes the baseline
Chrome plated plastic
Our reference frame
Looking forward life is full of choices
Casting backward there was no choice at all
Everything happened as it had to
So what do we do
With these current dilemmas?
Pivot the point of perspective
Swivel the hips of fate
Oh so normal this baseline disaster
Let’s see how big a mess we can make
Fifteen minutes no longer
Defines fame
Broken becomes the baseline
Chrome plated plastic
Our reference frame
Looking forward life is full of choices
Casting backward there was no choice at all
Everything happened as it had to
So what do we do
With these current dilemmas?
Pivot the point of perspective
Swivel the hips of fate
Oh so normal this baseline disaster
Let’s see how big a mess we can make

Abbiamo fatto un gran pasticcio enorme quando non sappiamo che cosa stiamo traducendo le lingue da e per.
Some times a silver lining
There are dark clouds in abundance
Passing over head each day
Yet some times a silver lining
The sun shines through again
Passing over head each day
Yet some times a silver lining
The sun shines through again

Progress Making Progress
I am proud to announce
That progress has been made
In our long running campaign
To raise the frustration levels
In this great country of ours
Over the lack of progress
In the crucial and vital area
Of frustration reduction
Any questions?

I Agree With What Keith Said!!!!
Television is quite often a river of crap. But every once in a while we get a glimpse of what TV could be.
Keith Olbermann put on one of the most powerful hours of television I have ever seen last night. If you haven't seen it, you should see it.
Our president has a reputation as a great orator, but he has not crystallized the basics of why health care is a universal right that any caring nation must provide like Keith did.
The basic human issues are so simple, yet we allow the debate and the policy to be hijacked by pimps and their bodyguards who do not add one single drop of actual care--they just manipulate prices and take larger and larger cuts while excluding more and more people from care. We have the ability as people to deliver fantastic care without bankrupting people. We have the ability. What we do not have is the will.
Watch Keith. He says it so much better than I can.

Range to Target
Captain Ramius perplexes
The usually solid Vasili
Say what you mean
Say what you really mean
Captain, may I respectfully require
That you say
What
You mean
Say what you mean
Captain
Jack Ryan can’t save you now
If you don’t
Say what you mean
Captain
Say what you mean

Ode to the Benin Empire, Baby
The Bini people lived
Under the Kings of the Sky
And founded their city of Benin
They flew their decapitation flag
With a warrior’s pride
Until crushed by a Punitive Expedition
By the British in 1897
High Tide and Green Grass
Brought double questions from
The Rolling Stones
Have you seen your mother, baby,
Standing in the Shadows?
And, Who’s driving your plane?
Neither track has been played live
By a Stone, since 1966
Although Mick played it once
At a solo show in 1993

They flew their decapitation flag
With a warrior’s pride

Modern Indulgence
I’m not going to talk about this
I didn’t invent the alphabet
I did not discover utility
I cannot wear such a hat
I cannot act with impunity
I did not give you that look
I’m not going to talk about this
I didn’t invent the alphabet
I did not discover utility
I cannot wear such a hat
I cannot act with impunity
I did not give you that look
I’m not going to talk about this

Feeling kind of slow at work. Thank goodness for coworkers who take up the slack while I am feeling like pulling my head into my shell and hiding.
