Like a Lightning Strike out of a Blue Sky, it occurred to me that there are
Only 9 Days until GeekGirlCon '12.
And this brilliant 5x7 mini will be waiting in Booth 307, otherwise known as The LarsenGeekery Emporium Extremium in his Blackus Mattus, waiting to go into your standardus framus.

New Mini Comic Mini Announcement
Hey, I just wrote and illustrated a new Mini Comic.
That's right, a real comic.
You can read it online at LarsenGeekery.com
It's not a monstrosity! It's a mini comic. I doesn't even have any monsters (except flying monkeys) or even bad guys in it.
And there is only ONE VOLCANO in the whole thing and it's not the focus of the comic. It's even dormant--hasn't erupted in thousands of years.
Oh, just go read it already. You can't complain about it if you haven't even read it yet!

New Duds? Or just Duds?
So, should the wife and I wear these new costumes I designed to the Emerald City ComiCon? Only 11 days till the show.
Easy there, Darkseid. I didn't think so either. I was just trying to draw a funny picture.
That's alright. It must be tough being the Lord of Apokolips. But did you think my drawing was funny?
Who says, Darkseid has no sense of humor? Besides the Justice League?

Snowed In, Shaking Fist At Sky Gods!
Which does absolutely no good.
It just brings down the lightning.
Which just wakes up the Volcano.
And we all know what that means! Bum, Bum, Bum!!!
----
Lightning striking a volcano painting by Jay Larsen.
Pile of snow brought to us by the frigid union of air-born moisture and cold temperatures.
Waiting for the Puget Sound to warm us up again so I can find my driveway.
Volcano Demons living in a volcano, priceless.

Warm Water Girl on a Frozen Snow Day
This girls seems all warm and liquid.
The exact opposite of the frozen snow and ice day we are having here in the North West.
But I had the day off and decided to paint something.

Red Mountain Girl Sketch
Just a quick sketch done during a boring conference call:
I don't know, Smoking Man.
But is that a volcano behind her?
Because we all know what lives in volcanoes, don't we?
We always end up here, don't we?

Toxic Goo Sketch
No deep meaning or political references.
Just a sketch of some creatures caught in toxic goo.
With an exhalation of Kirby Krackle thrown in for good measure.
Have a good weekend.

SOL v1e7 New Episode, Only 200 Calories
There is a new episode of Super Ordinary Living: Kosmic Koffee, or Little old Me?
Nebulus has finally found something on this ordinary planet that is worth consuming!
Click on over and have coffee with Baron von Domino and the gang
at Super Ordinary Living.
See how these former super villains are coping without their super powers.
----------------------------------------
Echoes: Pen and Ink drawing, scanned into the computer and digitally colored.
All by Jay Larsen.
If you haven't read any of my web comic: Super Ordinary Living,
Now is the perfect time to jump in and catch up.
SOL, brought to you by Qoke. Things Go. Better have a Qoke!

Blue Moon Racer
Blue moon racer
Braced against the solar winds
Goggles turn the winter sky
To burning chemical yellow
But the smell of exhaust is reassuring
Even as the roaring machine
Careens toward road's end
With untested brakes
Race, blue moon racer
Who the fuck needs brakes?

Progress Making Progress
I am proud to announceThat progress has been made
In our long running campaign
To raise the frustration levels
In this great country of ours
Over the lack of progress
In the crucial and vital area
Of frustration reduction
Any questions?

Inside Outside
Inside OutWhose side are you on, man?
Why these bars?
Why this tightness in my chest?
Why won’t you let me inside?
Why do the boots marching outside
Always bruise and churn my insides?
Which side am I on?
Outside or In?
--------------------------------
Illustration and poem by Jay Larsen
Ballpoint pen on paper snatched from a pizza place in the 80s
Drawn by a younger me full of teenaged angst,
yet even then there was a realization that my biggest limitations were inside me not outside
