Sound Check: 1, 2, 3

Retellings suspicious
Transactions malicious
Tries not to be annoying
His affections are cloying
A pathetic heaving
Frantic cleaving
These demon days

Swimming through the late night
Scanning dark interiors
Surrendering to the
Shimmering chit chat
Summoned by restless
Shuffling of memory
Shadows cast by
Shimmering half light

Paid to stir the monkey
From deep sleep
Starshine Dracula
Lingers over sound checks

Monkey can you hear me?

His soul is vacuous
Canines ravenous
Circling the dance floor
Always wanting more
Sweaty thrashing
Sexual posing
This demon preys

Swimming through the late night
Scanning dark interiors
Surrendering to the
Shimmering chit chat
Summoned by restless
Shuffling of memory
Shadows cast by
Shimmering half light

Gently stroking monkey
On his cheek
Starshine Dracula
Continues his sound check

Monkey can you hear me?

His tone is melodious
Meanings poisonous
Drawn to the bleating
Of hearts still beating
That final trembling
Life is fleeting
The demon slays

Swimming through the late night
Scanning dark interiors
Surrendering to the
Shimmering chit chat
Summoned by restless
Shuffling of memory
Shadows cast by
Shimmering half light

Squeezing the monkey
Till he squeaks
Starshine Dracula
Finishes his sound check

Monkey can you hear me?

that poem bored the fuck out of me...i didn't even get half way thru it. however i think the monkey photo is my favorite "collage-art-monkey" thing i've ever seen you do...i would actually consider printing it, framing it and hanging it. i really like it. now could you write it a better poem, please.

PS "He who praises ALL poems, praises NO poems!"

That's a famous quote I saw on Google quotes last week. Except the actual quote was:

"He who praises everyone praises no one.

Love ya!

PS It's time for a weather blog. I read on the Drudge report that "Seattle was paralyzed". Is it true? Personally, I think Seattles' been paralyzed for 15 years but don't get me started.

The artist who gets nothing but good critism is a piss poor artist!

It may not be the best poem, but if they work as song lyrics I'm satisfied.
Have you listened to the song? Download the Just Now album and then let me know.

Why would I want to blog about the weather? Yes it has been snowing and frozen for over two weeks.
